After my son was born in 2014, I was determined to stay healthy and live a long life. At that time, I was morbidly obese and suffered from Depression, Sleep Apnea, and riddled with other health conditions.

I was 24 years old, stood 5’ 2”, and my heaviest (recorded) weight was 246 lbs. After many years of trying every method possible to become healthy, gastric sleeve was my last resort. In December of 2015, I decided to move forward with Verticle Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery, and my life completely changed.

I went from merely existing to living.

Through diet and exercise, I have maintained the ability to keep off 100 pounds in the past 5 years. This tool saved my life. I am now a mother to 3 beautiful children, and I not only love the person I have become, but I am in love with my journey. I have a better understanding of the difficulties that come along with this journey, but the physical and emotional changes are no easy feat.

I keep myself active by staying heavily involved in the community hosting and attending meetups. I also mentor and guide other bariatric patients throughout their journey. I open challenges year-round to groups who want to be motivated and change together. This journey has not been easy for someone with a huge emotional connection to food. My stomach has gone through food aversions, sensitivity, and absolute restriction.

I feel as if I have become my own personal scientist, with the trial and error of so many foods and working on finding alternatives to figure out what my body responds to best. The products from Syntrax were recommended by my dietitian. I was weary since I’ve tried so many different products that ended with discomfort or feeling ill. The Syntrax proteins taste amazing and settle well in the stomach. This was a true game changer! Whether for recovery after a workout, a meal replacement, or simply to enjoy – personally, I believe Syntrax products work the best.

I believe in Syntrax and I’m happy to share my journey with others to encourage health and well-being, and overall just living a better life mentally and physically.
